The Not So Talented Mr Ripley

A former barman who posed as a spy to trick his victims out of almost £1m has been jailed for life.

Hendy-Freegard convinced numerous people that he was an undercover MI5 agent working against the IRA and that their lives were in danger.

The terrified victims were placed in “safe houses” around the country and forced to take up menial jobs whilst they and their families gave Hendy-Freegard around £1m which he spend on cars and clothes.

Car salesman - Freegard

I for one take my hat off to him. At least he got off his backside and did something rather than waiting around for government handouts.

That being said he is an utter b@stard and I hope he gets horrendously raped in prison.
